Class Development

This 1-day class got it’s inspiration from the swirling fall leaves and winds
(I decided to leave out all the rain). I tried to choose stitches and threads that were consistent with the connotations the season holds for me so I chose leaf shapes, stars (they are brighter in Oregon in the autumn when clouds don’t cover the sky), and autumn colors. Then for a twist I chose two other color schemes that have nothing to do with autumn.

  • to give students who are usually linen workers some exposure to a canvas-type ground fabric and some traditional canvas stitches
