Class Development One of my goals as a teacher is to encourage students in their own creativity and exploration of stitching. The first step in that process is to give them the tools and the courage to explore color, since color is the first thing anyone notices about a design. It is what reaches out and grabs you.
As stitchers we do not have the option of mixing our colors to create other colors, so we must rely on the colors created for us by the thread dyers. This class explores how to make the most of the materials at our disposal, through optical blending, value, texture, and the interaction of colors within their environment. |
