In 2012 my daughter, Jessica, went on a missions trip to South Africa. She went with a group called Women of Strength, sponsored by Amor Ministries - http://be.amor.org/wos . The purpose of the trip was for women of faith to serve together while honoring their Lord and Savior. While in South Africa they built a house, worked at a center for women and children with AIDS, planted a garden complete with fence. They also got a wonderful dose of South African culture. The women raise their own money through donations and fund raisers. Sometimes their home churches can help, but the majority of the money comes through each woman's individual efforts. In 2016 Jessica hopes to go again. Being the proud mom I am, I decided I would help. All profits from my design Dreaming of Geometry will be donated toward Jessica's trip. If you wish to purchase this design but do not want the proceeds to go toward Jessica's mission trip, please indicate so in the comments area when you pay. |
My goal as a personis to glorify my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by my attitude towards others and the quality of my work.
My goal as a needlework teacheris to provide my students with whatever support they need to attain their own goals as needleworkers. By providing clear step-by-step instructions; color, stitch, and design choices; and a class atmosphere conducive to learning and enjoyment I hope to enable each student to reach whatever level she has set for herself.
My goal as a needle artistis to help needlework be recognized as true an art form as painting or sculpting. Following the guidance laid down by quilt and tapestry artists who have gone before I am striving to create needle art that any gallery would be proud to represent.

ANG In Stitches - Extra InfoI have been priveleged to be asked to write the In Stitches column for Needle Pointers, the ANG official magazine, for 2013. Columns are, by their nature, limited in space.
Anyone who has ever taken one of my classes knows I always assume more information is better. And I always assume everyone is as eager for stitching information as I am. Click here to be taken to pages with more information on the stitches I talk about in my column. |
